This academic year has been an important one for our school. Not only have we welcomed lots of new students and some excellent new teachers into our school community, but this year has seen us complete the current cycle of our school accreditation process with the Council of International Schools (CIS).
The CIS accreditation process takes place on a five year cycle. The process is aimed at ensuring the highest standards are met in international education and affords the school an opportunity to be evaluated against the highest standards in international education by an objective visiting accreditation team.
The 2012 / 2013 academic year has seen the culmination of the current 5 year cycle and the school is extremely proud to report that we have successfully maintained our status as a fully accredited school.
The report from the visiting team particularly praised a number of areas, including:
-
the evident pride that students have in their school;
-
the high level of support that exists for the school across all constituencies and the shared commitment to school improvement;
-
the commitment of the teaching staff and support staff to the school, and in particular, their dedication to providing the best learning opportunities for students;
-
the school’s evident commitment to providing students with a range of international and cultural learning opportunities. The British School of Bangkok draws strongly on international and host country culture;
-
the commitment of the Board of Governors to providing an environment conducive to high quality learning.
We would like to thank the entire school community, children, parents and staff, for their unstinting support throughout the years. While the CIS accreditation process is an extremely important marker in our ongoing school improvement programme, and the recent successful evaluation is the culmination of several years’ work, it is but one part of the perpetual drive to create the best possible learning environment for the children in our care. We hope we can rely on your continuing support throughout the years to come.
